The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has been established under the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 on 18th October 2010 for the effective and expeditious disposal of cases related to environmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources including enforcement of any legal right relating to environment, giving relief and compensation for damages to persons and property, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.S. Naidu had joined in National Green Tribunal (NGT) as a Judicial Member on 2nd June, 2011. Now he has been appointed as the Acting Chairperson of NGT since 1st January, 2012. It is our great pleasure that the Hon’ble Justice has given his consent for an interaction with the Civil Society Organisations, community representatives, media, legal experts, government officials and academicians on the expectations, achievements, issues, and aspirations vis-à-vis the NGT, on 26th June 2012 in a consultation which is going to be organized by RCDC at CYSD-DRTC (Mahanadi conference hall) at 9.45 a.m.
