RCDC has its direct or indirect presence in 13 districts of Odisha. It has its regional offices at Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Bolangir.

At national level, RCDC has linkages in Central Indian states. It is a member of the NTFP-India Exchange Programme that facilitates sharing of NTFP- and related experiences and observations among interstate partners.

At international level, RCDC is the member of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO); and has the honor of coordinating(through Mr. Bikash Rath, Sr. Programme Manager) the IUFRO Working Party on Community Forestry.
